CBFF 2019

A Celebration of the Best UK and International Independent Film.

Everything has already been done, every story has been told every scene has been shot, it’s our job to do it one better —  Stanley Kubrick

We are very committed to supporting Women In Film

At least 60% of all films screened at our festival have either female directors, producers or females in the main role. So to encourage even more participation by female filmmakers once again we have introduced this discount code which will be active up until submissions close in January 2019.

The F-Rating is awarded to films
1. directed by a woman and/or
2. written by a woman

If the film also features significant women on screen in their own right it is TRIPLE F-Rated

The rating is designed to support and promote women and redress the imbalance in the film industry, which was introduced by Bath Film Festival in 2014.

Our 8th festival will see some significant changes, for the last seven years, the festival has been held at the Stradey Park Hotel here in Llanelli. The hotel has been very supportive, and without their support, the festival would have been unable to get off the ground. So with the full support of the hotel, we felt it was time to move on and try something new. So for 2019 CBFF will be held at the jewel of Carmarthenshire, The Ffwrnes theatre in the heart of Llanelli, which will bring a new dynamic and feel to the festival.

Already excitement is building here at CBFF HQ as we look forward to moving to our new venue. And you can see from the photos above why.

It’s all about fairness, our motto.
‘This festival is honest’ and will always be, a champion of independent film.

Filmmakers are saying this about our festival

She Is Juiced was a finalist in this great festival! So grateful to Kelvin for his heartfelt commitment to bringing more films to Wales. His passion is tangible and its really great to see that CBFF2019 looks even better! Thank you CBFF I’ll see you soon…Kindest Lois

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the actual festival, but my film was shown there. All my communication with the Festival was very prompt and polite. Would definitely submit again!

This is a fantastic festival, very high-quality films making the shortlists from all over the globe. Very proud to have screened and hoping this festival goes from strength to strength.
